Day1 Delhi – Shimla

  • The day starts with breakfast at your hotel, and you are set to embark on a beautiful journey.
  • You will head to Shimla from Delhi, around 5 hours away by car.
  • Upon arrival in Shimla, check into your Hotel for the night and head out for some adventure. 
  • There are many activities to enjoy, including mountain biking, trekking, skiing or even zorbing!
  • Whatever you decide to do today, don't forget to take in all this city has to offer!

Tomorrow morning, there's an early start for you as we're taking off for Kullu, where we'll spend the night.

Day2 Shimla-Kufri Local sightseeing

  • Visit Kufri and enjoy viewing snow-capped Himalayan peaks from atop Tiger Hill.
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants in Kufri or explore nearby temples.
  • If you're lucky, you'll be able to spot some of India's endangered species, such as brown bears, leopards and even snow leopards. 
  • These majestic animals can be spotted right here in this area.
  • The best time to visit is during the winter because it offers clear views of the mountain ranges due to low air pollution.

Day3 Shimla-Manali

  • After visiting Shimla, we head to Manali. The drive takes approximately six hours and is interrupted by numerous stops for snacks, tea and lunch.
  • After passing through small towns like MandiKulluBanjar and Manikaran, we reach Manali.
  • Manali is a popular destination for tourists because of its picturesque location in the Himalayan foothills, with spectacular mountain ranges in every direction.
  • Located at an altitude of 2,050 meters above sea level, this town has developed into a hub for adventure activities such as skiing and trekking. 
  • You spend one night here. In the morning, you go out sightseeing to visit Solang ValleyBeas Kund (lake), Rohtang Pass, Patnitop and Kothiwali Devi Temple.

In the evening, you can walk up to Rohtang Pass (3,940 meters) and catch some breathtaking views of glaciers; if it's not too cold, you can even take a short stroll around nearby hamlets.

                                        

Day4 Manali - Solang Valley-Rohtang Pass - Manali

  • The next day you will head to Manali. You will visit the Solang Valley and the Rohtang Pass during your daylong journey.
  • The Solang Valley is one of the most popular trekking destinations in India.
  • Along with its magnificent views, it is also home to various flora and fauna that can be found nowhere else. 
  • You will then have time for lunch before heading back to Manali.

In the evening, you will get an opportunity to experience the beautiful sunset view over Kullu Valley before returning to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day5 Manali sightseeing

It is said that Manali is one of the most picturesque places in India. The city is surrounded by apple orchards, pine trees, and magnificent mountains. It offers beautiful views and splendid surroundings to explore. It also has many attractive points like Hadimba templeSolang Valley,  Vashisht Temple and much more. 

  • You can also enjoy trekking for adventurous activities as it has vast opportunities for such activities too.

Day6 Manali - Dharamshala 08 hours journey

  • On our way to Dharamshala, we stopped at Kullu for some delicious parathas.
  • The people there were really friendly and welcoming.
  • Seeing them all smiling and waving at us as we drove by was nice.
  • The scenery was amazing, with the mountains in the background like they were touching the sky. 
  • We reached Dharamsala just before sunset, had dinner and then went to bed early because it would be an early start tomorrow morning.
  • I visited McLeod Ganj in the evening, home to many Buddhist monasteries and temples.
  • There is also a Tibetan Museum where you can learn about Buddhism and its history.

Day7 Dharamshala-Mcleodganj local sightseeing-Dalhousie

  • The next day, we headed to Mcleodganj, set deep in the Himalayas and one of India's most famous spiritual centres.
  • This is where Gandhi was imprisoned for two years and where he wrote his famous autobiography My Experiments with Truth.
  • We had a short break in this town before heading back to Dharamsala. 
  • On our way, we visited Dalhousie, an altitude of nearly 7,500 feet.
  • The Hotel was just outside the city limits, but it gave us access to panoramic views of Mt. Kangchenjunga and Mt. Everest (over 28,000 ft.).
  • It snowed that night, and I saw both stars and the moon from my balcony- a wonderful finale to my vacation!

Day8 Dalhousie - Khajjiar- Dalhousie

  • Dalhousie is situated at an altitude of 2,050 m and surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
  • The name Dalhousie meant Summer Resort in English and was founded by the British who wanted to escape the heat during summers. 
  • Khajjiar is another beautiful place that should not be missed when visiting Dalhousie. 
  • It lies in the Western Himalayan region at 1,438 m and has one of the largest man-made lakes in Asia.
  • Local villagers earn their livelihood through fishing, farming and animal husbandry.
  • Besides its scenic beauty, Khajjiar is famous for its fruit trees like walnut and apple trees. 

Fishing enthusiasts can get their fill here with a visit to the Hirankashyap Reservoir, which has been constructed for this purpose alone. There are many recreational activities that you can indulge in here, including horse riding, boating, cycling etc.

Day9 Dalhousie-Delhi

The next day, we woke up early and drove to Dalhousie. After exploring Dalhousie for a couple of hours, we headed back to Delhi to catch our flight home.
